What a Day!
On Friday, July 13th -- my parents celebrated their 33rd anniversary. Happy Anniversary to them. My mom has truly lived her wedding vows of through sickness and health, that is for sure. She is a true testiment to what you do for love and marriage. I truly look up to her for inspiration and as a role model.
Let's just say that the day turned out to be a lot different than I thought it would be when I woke up.
On my way to work, I started to have a lot of discomfort in my back. I thought nothing of it, took some Tylenol when I got to work and continued with my day. Around 11:30, it came back and with more pain this time. It became unbearable, so I called my doctor. She told me to go to the nearest hospital to get checked out.
After four hours at the hospital, they decided that I had a kidney stone. The pain was so terribly bad, that I even got physically ill - it was awful. On top of that, I had two infections and had to get a shot of antibiotics in my backside.
They checked to see if I was dialated and unfortunately, that was an uncomfortable experience for about fifteen minutes. Let's just say, my body makes it difficult for me to get checked out and no, I am not dialated at all.
Even though it was a horrible end of the day, I am so glad that I was not in pre-term labor at 36 weeks like a lot of people thought. But let's just say I don't want to be in that much pain for a long time, or at least not that much pain in my back.
By the time we got home, I was feeling a lot better, finally getting food in me since I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. We went to my mom's anniversary party at the nursing home with my dad. She hosted a bonfire with snacks and drinks with her friends from the "home" and beyond. It was a very nice time.
