jobs, jobs, jobs
Well, I have been enjoying my two week break from student teaching. But now has come the time where I need to think about applying for fall positions. I have been checking multiple web sites daily for postings and so far there are three in my area to apply for. I know there will be more coming soon, so it is nice to apply for these first before the others start. So far I will be applying for two elementary positions and one middle school with possibilities of coaching.
I met my second cooperating teacher yesterday. Let's just say that this placement is going to be remarkalby differest from the last. First grade was amazing; my teacher was so easy to work with and let me take things slowly. This teacher seems to have an edge about her and wants me to take over full-time two weeks into it. Crazy. We are supposed to take time to observe, get to know the kids and school a bit and gradully take over.
The application process is a bit overwhelming. Every school does things differently, wants different application materials and so on. Transcripts, resumes, letter of rec, cover letters...it is a lot. I have almost everything ready except for writing the different cover letters. The deadlines are the 10th, 11th and 18th, so I have a little time to get things in order.
I have also applied to teach summer school in my small town to get some more experience and networking in my town. I will find out in May. Teaching for money -- what a concept.
