Thankful

Well, here we are, the day before Thanksgiving. Since I haven't posted in awhile -- I thought I would post what I am most thankful for right now in my life.

1. My wonderful and handsome hubby, Tuck. He has stood by my side for over seven years now. He is my rock and has helped me live out my dreams.

2. My kids. Even though I don't get to spend 24/7 with them, it literally makes my day to see them, hold them and kiss them to pieces. B-man is getting to be such a cool kid. He loves to read, his imagination it starting to take off and he is such a boy's boy outdoors. Baby girl is a delight. Her smile brightens the darkest days and when she sleeps, I want to sit and stare at her forever.

3. My mom. She is the best woman I know. She watches my kids and loves them more than I could ever ask for. She is strong, fun and caring. She is my best friend.

4. Education. After 2 and a half years, I only have two more nights of school until I am done. I can't believe it. My undergraduate degree means a lot to me, but this teaching certification will mean the world. It means that I listened to my heart and dreams and went for something that I was afraid to do. I can't wait to be a teacher!

5. My house. We have officially been in our house for one year and I love what it has done for our family. We no longer eat in front of the TV, I try to cook more, we play outside more and have fires when it is cold.

6. Friends. Yesterday, I got together with a college friend that I hadn't seen or talked with in over a year. We picked up right where we left off. She is a wonderful person and friend and I look forward to spending more time with her in the years to come. Although I have parted ways from a lot of my high school and college friends, the few that I am still in touch with are truly good friends who will always share a special place in my heart.

7. Small Town. I love where we live. Yes, it is where I grew up, but it is a great place to raise kids. The small town community is fun to be a part of and we are trying to get more involved as a couple and family.

8. Health. After my bout with the kidney stones, I am really thankful for my health as well as my family's. We are so blessed to be healthy, active people and I only hope that we stay healthy over the next cold/flu season.

9. Dad. I know that I don't talk about him that much. But I am thankful for my dad even though we don't have a real relationship anymore. His dementia has now left him practically mute and now he is having troubles with eating. But he is my teaching mentor, someone I am still trying to impress and be like in that way. He is still my dad and I miss him dearly.

10. In-laws. I have a great second family, thanks to marrying Tuck. They are wonderful people and I love them like they are my own brother, sisters, mother and fathers. I am so lucky that they have welcomed me into their family and lives.

Well, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be thankful for!
