Update

1. I want to extend a happy belated anniversary to my darling husband, Tuck. On Saturday, Sept. 13th, we celebrated our 5th anniversary. I can't believe how fast that went. In those five years we have: moved three times (first house, mom's house and built a house), have had two adorable children, I finished my PBC and obtained my teaching license, Tuck switched jobs and careers three times and we have had many, many happy memories made. I am looking forward to what the next 5, 15 and 50 bring to us! I love you Tuck. We celebrated by getting a babysitter, going out for a fantastic dinner of steaks, garlic smashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, watching two movies, staying up late and sleeping in early. It was wonderful!

2. I am officially a sub. I have been on my first two assignments already with many more on the calendar. I am really enjoying it so far, especially the kids and the variety. I have been in Middle School Social Studies and Reading, yesterday I was a 4th grade teacher and this week I will be in Kindergarten and High School English.

3. Cute conversation with B-man this morning:

(getting ready for work -- not subbing)

B: Are you going to be a teacher today?
Me: Nope, I am going to my other job today.
B: Who is going to be the teacher?
Me: Other people are teaching today, not me.
B: Well who is going to rub the kids backs during nap time?

This is what being a teacher means to a 3.5 yr old. How cute!

4. Oh yeah. I got a long-term subbing position set up for the winter months, in my home town!! I am so excited. It will be in first grade in the school that I went to as a child. For the first time since I graduated from college, I won't be traveling over an hour to work during the winter season. Ya-hoo! (I am hoping that this will help me secure a full-time gig next fall in that school as well.)

5. Less than two weeks until my last birthday in my twenties!

Long term subbing position is great news. I'm sure something good will come out of it.

Woo hoo - congrats, Trisha!!! How long is the long-term gig? Isn't subbing fun? Well, at least in the MS and HS where you sometimes teach, sometimes don't, but definitely don't have planning to do! ES is hard b/c you know nothing about the kids (ie WHO TO WATCH OUT FOR) and are expected to totally keep up with lesson plans). So happy for you! And, happy belated anniversary, happy birthday to your mom (*same date, right?) and happy early birthday!!!
