I know this is late, but I think I am in denial that my little baby girl is already one. We had a glorious time celebrating her birthday with two small gatherings for the two sides of the family. One on her actual birthday (Aug. 10) and one on Aug. 16.

To my Hannah,

We have loved having you as the new addition to the family. From day one, you have fit right in. Your brother adores you and just loves that you enjoy playing with him in his room, running (yes, she is now walking and "running") around the house laughing with him, and going for walks with him. I hope you will always love him as much as you do now. I think it is so cute, when you walk down to his bedroom and walk on in to wake him up from a nap because you want to play with him. You two are best buds.

Your daddy and I love having a little girl. We love the snuggly, sleepy times with you as we rock you to sleep. We love watching you wake up from a long nights sleep and give us a little "hi" almost in a whisper as you stand up to be snuggled. We love your adorable personality and stubborness that you get from both of us. You enjoy talking on the phone already and will use anything to play phone with, whether it is a shoe, toy, or just your hand. You put it right to your ear, say hi and start "talking" away.

I have enjoyed dressing you in your cute dresses and girly outfits. You are such a beauty and have the smile and eyes to take a boy's breath away. Your hair has gotten so thick and long that it is curling in the back and around your ears. It is just adorable.

You truly have been an answer to our prayers, you were and are a healthy little girl with the best personality. Everyone loves you and enjoys being around you. You have made us laugh and made me cry as I watch you grow so fast and get more and more independent every day. I look forward to your next year and watching you experience all of life's beauty.
