Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

32 years ago, my fabulous parents were married in a tiny town in the Midwest. It was over 100 degrees and the A/C broke at the reception hall. My mom had a daisy wedding, her cake had little sugar daisies on it and melted.

They ate, drank and were married! It was a party for the whole town and everyone had a great time. They rode off into the sunset on a sleigh with wheels made by my grandpa.

My dad's hair at the time was long and wavy. When I was young I would look at the pictures and say that he didn't have any ears. My mom wore an adorable dress with an empire waist and a hat. The colors were brown and yellow. They were in love.

Today, we are celebrating -- but it is bittersweet since it is the first year that they are not totally together on their anniversary. With dad in the nursing home, I am sure my mom is feeling strange. But we are going to make the most of it.

Tuck and I made mom a cake and I am going to pick up some daisies and a card on the way home. Their relationship defines love and what marriage should be.

I hope that Tuck and I can reach 32 years -- with their marriage as an example, I know we can do anything.
