Big things...

This weekend we had some big things happen in our house.

The little guy has finally caught on to the potty training thing. We had started prepping for training 8 months ago with the potty chair (which he loved to sit on and do NOTHING), practicing sitting on the big-boy toilet before baths and have even had a couple successes here and there, but nothing consistent. Then this weekend he was consistent with the training. He loved running around in his underwear and got mad when we had to put on a diaper if we went somewhere. He has had success on both "types" of pottying, too! Yeah little guy -- we are so proud of you.

Miss Muffit also reached a mini milestone this weekend, which marked 16 weeks old. She has mastered the roll-over. All Saturday and Sunday she worked and worked, even grunting in the process, until it finally happened. She loves being on her belly and sleeps on it for all naps and bedtime for the last month. Now, diaper changing is more adventurous with a little one who is trying to roll over while putting on a diaper.

I finally felt like a true Susie Homemaker this weekend. Procrastinating on my last homework assignment for my certification put me in the mood to clean, cook and decorate. Our house is now full of holiday cheer and decor with two Christmas trees (one live, one fake), and my Santa and Snowman collection spread throughout the house. It looks great! Stockings are hung and ready for St. Nick's. I also made chili since we got our first snow/ice storm, made homemade chocolate chip cookies, a casserole and cleaned all our bathrooms. So this is what all of you real mom's feel like all the time, huh? I can't wait until I have no school/homework and can just work and be a mom like this all the time.

Tuck was very dad-like this weekend too, cutting wood for our fireplace for four hours on Saturday and snow-blowing through ice-covered snow on Sunday.

What a productive weekend, what did you do?

Don't forget about my toughest assignment of the weekend...eating the homemade cookies even with nuts. What about the Holiday Cheer? I don't remember that when things were laying all over the house before finding their end place. I think it was more like can we burn some of the decor in he fireplace and I'm not doing this next year. Bah hum bug!

I know, it is stressful when everything was laying everywhere -- but the final product is what counts! My humbug is gone, promise!

Photos from the weekend? Sounds like a busy but productive time - I love getting stuff done! Even if it is baking cookies :)

Wow, your family is changing and moving. Dolan started crawling and pulling up on things so I know what you mean when things get crazy when they start to move. I am glad you had a chance to get things done!
